Financial Support

This year we need to raise approximately £94,550 to help over 600 people who are D/deaf or hard of hearing living in Pembrokeshire and the surrounding areas. We are delighted to announce that £68,380 has been secured from The National Lottery Community Fund (as part of a 5-year funding agreement totalling £372,936). This will provide the following services:

  • BSL and Deaf Awareness training
  • Business support for charities, not-for-profit organisations, public sector and private sector organisations across Pembrokeshire. The aim of this support is to improve access for the D/deaf community.
  • Children and Young People services, including support for family members.
  • Home visits including hearing aid repairs for those unable to attend Audiology
  • Trips and events to improve inclusion and reduce social isolation

This year we need to raise an additional £13,300 from general donations and grant funding, in order to provide our services. We have secured £4,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation and £1,500 from the Ingles Charitable Trust (for work with children and young people). We are grateful to all our funders for their support. We have a small pot of funding from South Hook which you can apply for if you have a child or young person wanting to learn BSL free (with a paying adult in attendance).

We receive no statutory funding. We try to ensure our events and activities are not too expensive for our members, most of whom are not in employment or are on low wages.

If you are able to donate to our work please contact us on admin@signandshare.org.uk for details of our account. If you are a taxpayer; please consider gift aiding your donation as we are registered with HMRC and can then claim your tax back on top of whatever you donate.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING OUR CHARITY.
